Top Automations for Speech Pros

Dec 15, 2021

We are getting close to the end of the year.  I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to set goals for my business in 2022.

One of my goals for next year is to make the most of my work time, and one of the ways that I do that is to automate everything that I possibly can.

Setting up automations in your business can save you a ton of time and overwhelm.

Here are 3 of my favorite time-saving automations.

1.  Kajabi:  I do live sessions through Zoom and then have my students practice on their own using online video lessons that I host in Kajabi.  This saves me a ton of time because I don’t have to send links or downloads for homework between sessions.  My students log in to the online library and practice on their own.

Although I highly recommend that you create your own library, (so you can earn some passive income!) if you don’t have the time to create your own video lessons, you can let your students use mine!  My students love Speech Class at the Accent Channel and now anyone can be a member for a low monthly fee.

 2.  Calendly: This online appointment scheduler lets you set your availability and easily share your calendar on your website, on social media, or via email.  It integrates with Zoom and sends the meeting link to your student automatically, which saves a ton of time.

Calendly puts the responsibility of scheduling on the student and lets them self-schedule in their own time zone, which is so useful and has reduced missed sessions due to scheduling mistakes.  And if there is a scheduling mistake, the student knows it was their mistake, not yours, so you can decide if you want to enforce your cancellation policy or not.

Calendly also gives you the option to automatically collect pre-payment when the student schedules, which I highly recommend for any teacher.  It's fine to excuse a student if there is a true emergency, but before I started getting payment in advance, I had to deal with too many no-shows.  Pre-payment = commitment to showing up!

3.  Canva Pro Version: I’m not visual person and I have a terrible eye for design, so the Canva Pro version has been a huge time saver for social media graphics.

I used the free version for years, and it was wonderful, but with the paid version, you have access to a huge library of photos, templates, and other graphics, and you can resize any design with the click of a button.

If you are a person (like me) who is trying to be active on social media but prefer using graphics and text based posts to showing your face in photos or videos, Canva Pro can help you with this.  Here is the link to learn more:  https://www.canva.com/pricing/

So those are my top picks.  I’d love to hear yours!  What are your favorite time-saving automations?

And don’t forget about our FREE live webinar tonight!  Instagram Marketing 101 for Speech Pros.  If you want to use Instagram to grow your business and attract new students, my friend Diandra Apoyan is going to be sharing her best tips.  I’d love to see you there!
