Why You'll Love Teaching Accents & Pronunciation

Sep 17, 2020

There are so many amazing things about teaching Accents and Pronunciation.

So I'm always kind of shocked, and a little sad, when people ask if they can really make a full time career out of this work.

Because you can.  I've been doing it for the past 20 years.

And there is just so much to love...getting to help people feel like they have a personality and a voice again, seeing my students' confidence soar as they lose the fear being misunderstood, being there to celebrate when one of my students lands the job, gets the promotion, nails the interview, actually receives the correct meal because the server understood them the first time (hey!  The little things matter too!)

But as much as I love helping my students, I have to admit that there's a lot in it for me too.

HERE'S WHY I LOVE TEACHING ACCENTS AND PRONUNCIATION

  • You Get To Work With Anyone in the World, From Anywhere in the World (just be careful of time zones!)

You meet the coolest people and because you really get to know your students, you get to enjoy an up close and personal view of other cultures.  Plus, you set your own schedule, so you get to decide when and how often you want to work with students.

  • It's a Low-Risk Investment

There is very little financial investment or risk to start teaching. You don’t need any expensive equipment or specialized materials to get started.  All you need to work with your students is a computer.  You really have nothing to lose!

And the best part...when you grow your roster of students and build your own business you don’t have to work for someone else.  You get to call the shots!

  • New Streams of Income

Once you have a proven method for teaching accents and pronunciation, you can offer online courses, membership programs, group coaching, webinars and online workshops… The possibilities to grow your business are endless and you can do it all on your own terms.

And did I mention the passive income?  Money coming in when I am not working directly with students or clients???  Never thought it was a possibility for me as a Speech Pathologist, but can happily say that it is now!

So if you've been thinking about teaching accents and pronunciation, what are you waiting for?

Take the first step!
